Jurors:
Thanks for your interest in the Eagle Awards Initiative. The Initiative is at its basic level, a talent search. We're looking for the next stars of the comic book medium who have originality, passion and the skill to tell a story. That part is crucial- storytelling. What we're looking for is a self contained story, told clearly, regardless of genre. Each entry will be considered on its own merits, and judged by the industry's top talents. It is an unprecedented opportunity.
Because of that we are expecting a huge amount of entries. Those which meet the SUBMISSION GUIDELINES will be compiled for review by the Jury.
The Jury will be comprised of volunteers from the comic book reading community and will be taking a critical role in producing a final shortlist of twelve submissions, upon which our Judges will make their final three decision.
Once you have signed up as a Juror and agreed to the below conditions, you will be contacted after the submission period has ended, and will be given a unique log in to read, review and vote on a story. You will have a a few months to read and review all of the stories submitted, and vote on them. A record will be kept of your votes and stories reviewed. Only by voting on all the stories will your votes count.
Each Juror must agree to the following guidelines.
- All Jurors must be considered an adult in their country of residence, ie 18 in the UK, 21 in the US. Jurors must declare their name, address, date of birth, and contact details upon signing up.
-
Jurors must not have entered in a submission of their own, nor know anyone who has. To do so would be a conflict of interest and invalidate both your voting and the persons submission. If it is later discovered a Juror did know an entrant personally, the submission and the juror will be disqualified, and may be subject to compensation claims from the Initiative.
-
Jurors will be entrusted with seeing the work of hundreds of entrants prior to their publication, so therefore must not attempt to corrupt, unduly influence, disparage, bring into disrepute or compromise the voting procedures, the work of the entrants, the entrants themselves, or other jurors. Any attempt to do so may subject those responsible to legal action from the Initiative.
-
Jurors will be viewing the submissions in a secure and password protected online environment. No attempt must be made to copy, transfer, or delete the submissions from this environment, or make available to the general public in anyway any of the submitted material. Any attempt to do so may subject those responsible to legal action from the Initiative.
-
As a reward for those who successfully review all submissions, Jurors will recieve copies of the final printed Intiative Anthology; special discounts from our partners and sponsors; and a free access to the Eagle Awards party (details to be confirmed).
